Why you need to have a HUNTER mindset to be a RICH Investor
“If you want to be RICH and HAPPY, don’t go to SCHOOL”. Thats the title of the first book I ever read from Robert Kiyosaki. I highly recommend it to anyone you want to be Rich and Successful in Life. In case you have been living under a rock, Robert Kiyosaki is the Author of Rich DAD, Poor DAD, International Best Seller, Speaker, Multi Millionaire and Real Estate Tycoon. Its this book that got me into thinking and brought me into Real Estate or Property world. It turn my world upside down, the words of that book strike deep into my heart.
It also confirms what I know All Along – That schools brainwash you to being a Good Employee but not how to be RICH and HAPPY. You simply cannot wait till you save enough so you can buy the best deal on the market.
In order to be Rich and Happy you need to be prepare let go of your old belief system. Having invested for the last 8 years, I can say you need to have a HUNTER Mindset.
Who is a Hunter? Someone who Prepare and Look for Opportunities then Strike at the Right Time.
Usually what happens to many people who didn’t buy their first property is always because of 3 things.
- Not enough money for downpaymentIf you have been noticing all the rebates and low downpayment the developer is offering currently, you shouldn’t have to fork out too much to buy a decent property. Also go and talk to the developer staff, sometimes they have offers beyond what is being given because of last few remaining units or low sales. This is where the “Look” came in.
- Not ready to buy a house yetIf you have been living “lifestyle” choice over a long time, then more you make, the more you spennnd. MAKE MORE SPEND MORE. Make more Spend More. You may look good but your credit rating suffers and CCRIS is in bad shape. Its a bad cycle. Tidy up your personal finances and clean up your records. This is Being “Prepare“.
- Not my ideal houseYou can look and look and look, but nowadays its almost Impossible (Unless you received a donation?) to buy your first House that ticks all the boxes on your wish list. Best location, near my workplace, large space yadda, yadda etc. Buy when the deal is good and after you have done your calculations. This is “Strike at the Right Time”.

Pure and Simple
A Hunter is always on the look out whenever there is prey around. You need to have the same mindset. He is also well prepare and knows when to strike.
For your case is having a decent savings and a good repayment record with the banks. Then when a good deal come into the market, you can act fast and grab it before anyone else does.
Another point to note is to make up your mind is your Property is for Own Stay or Investment. You can’t have both because the priorities are so…different. One is for your comfort. The other is for making a profit. Pure and simple. I will delve into this in another article.
